- born in Bilgarei, Poland before WW II well known Rabbi and Jewish educator arrived
in the USA in 1947 from Russian labor camp with his family. (His mother was from
the Sharf family also Bilgarei Poland.) At a young age he went to
study in the famous Novardic Yeshivah in Vilna. He was sent from there to a
labor camp in Siberia,
Russia. When he was released at the end of WWII he relocated to Brooklyn,
New York. Today several of his sons are prominently involved in Jewish
education and other worthy Jewish causes. |
